Pizzini 2022 Sangiovese Nebbiolo Rosetta (750mL)

A punchy but approachable ruby-pink drop from Pizzini, with the "Rosetta" name pointing to their Italian inspiration. Starts with heady rose and strawberry aromas, with a crisp acidity that cuts through what could otherwise be too powerful a fruit-forward body for such a smashable al-fresco rosé - think orange rind and ripe cherry. 

Winemakers Comments

We’ve captured Rosetta’s youthful energy in a bottle. Featuring an abundant combination of the lush berry notes of Sangiovese and the heady floral aromas of Nebbiolo. And, like Rosetta, it’s generous, approachable and refreshing. Best enjoyed right now, paired with an antipasto-laden table and lively conversation.

This rosé has been made from selected Sangiovese and Nebbiolo vineyards that are noted for producing soft, delicate and fruity styles of wine. The fruit was machine picked, crushed and left on its skins for 8 – 9 hours. After pressing, the juice was then slowly cool fermented at 15˚C to retain fruit aromatics and freshness.

About the Winery

Winemaking duo Fred and Katrina Pizzini, formerly well-respected grapegrowers for a variety of labels, have more recently brought their name and their sizeable vineyards to the Pizzini brand. Pizzini's wines are made with a focus on varietal character, with Italian varieties and styles being a particular focus.
