As a general statement the single variety shiraz wines are better than the releases involving pinot noir in the Saint & Scholar range.
This is an attractive wine with sweet cherry, redcurrant and plum flavours leading to a clovey, peppery, more savoury finish. It boasts fine tannin and a juicy finish and while alcohol warmth is certainly apparent the juiciness of the fruit wins out.

Our Notes
This one sneaks up on you. Dark in the glass, reddish-brown like a tasteful lipstick, timid nose, gentlemanly notes of tobacco and potpourri overshadowing any fruit (cherry, mostly) that might try to burst out without permission - but there's power to it. Rising heat, a Hey-Jude finish that fades but won't quit, depth to those refined tannins. You could say it drinks like an older wine, or you could say it feels no need to prove itself.

About the Winery
The Saint and the Scholar are winemakers Stephen Dew and Reid Bosward respectively, nicknamed for their friendly and thoughtful dispositions respectively.
The recent establishment of a cellar door at Adelaide Hills fine dining institution Maximillian’s has provided the growing operation with a spectacular public face and the opportunity for all sorts of unusual promotions.
