Our Notes
The firm office favourite, in a hard-to-beat crowd, of the SB wines this month, this is bright & achingly juicy, with berries, cherry, some toasty smoky mushroom earth notes, and plenty of fruity fragrance.
Would probably suit slight chilling, if you aren’t too cold in this shocker of a winter or can bear to keep the bottle until the warmer months.
From The Winemaker
Nose: A brightly aromatic nose of wild strawberry, raspberry and cranberry intermingle with hints of blue fruit, fresh tobacco and mocha.
Palate: The palate is finely structured, showing generosity and clarity of fruit expression. Currants, dark cherry and red berry characters integrate well with supportive oak spice. Refreshing natural acidity gives the wine drive and line, leading into a long and persistent finish.
About the Winery
A collaboration between esteemed wine merchant David Fesq and winemaker Charles Smedley, whose Mandala wines we've featured previously, Le Bon wines aim to combine easy drinkability with boutique nuance & elegance. All grapes used were from the Smedley family vineyards.
